NATIVES DAY SWEET AND SAVORY SANDWICH

Now that the feast is over and your refrigerator has tons of leftovers. I created this yummy Festive Sandwich. With the bits of sausage from the dressing and the sweet tart cranberry sauce I think I look forward to this sandwich more that than the holiday itself.  We had a Vegan Roast (Gardein Makes one and so does Trader Joes) I added that to this sandwich but it sure can be amazing without it.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup of leftover Dressing

  • 2-3 Tablespoons of Cranberry Sauce

  • 2 Slices of Vegan Roast *Optional

  • 2 Slices of Vegan Cheeze

  • ¼ Cup of Vegan Mayo (plus extra for spread on the bread for grilling)

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard

  • 1 clove of Garlic (minced or zested)

  • 2 Slices of Bread (any will work-I love mine on sour dough)

In a small bowl add vegan mayonnaise, Dijon mustard and zest garlic right into the bowl. Mix and set aside.

Turn on the heat of a Grill, flat Pan, or a Panini Maker. Spread Dijon sauce on one side of the bread, then add both slices of cheeze, the add dressing, top with cranberry sauce then add the second slice of bread with Dijon sauce. Spread plain Vegan Mayo on the outside of both sliced pieces of bread. Place in a panini press or on a hot griddle. Brown both side until golden. Enjoy!

NOTE: This recipe breaks it down to roughly one sandwich but please adjust according if making more than one sandwich.
